Among her latest works and awards are La mujer, el pan y el pordiosero (Eón: México); Cibeles que sueña= Cybele, As She Dreams, Translated by Enriqueta Carrington, Artist Book by Yarisa Colón Torres (35 copies, 2010), Tres relatos y un infortunio (Rosario: Fundación Ross, 2009), Cuando narradoras latinoamericanas narran en los Estados Unidos (Rosario: Fundación Ross, 2009); the script: A Porcelain Doll with Violet Eyes Staring into Space/ Una muñeca de cerámica con ojos violetas (Wheelhouse Press, 2009) translated by Bethany Korp-Edwards and Samandar: libro de viajes/ Book of Travels (Buenos Aires: Tse Tse, 2007) translated by Enriqueta Carrington. Both books had received excellent comments from critics. Other books are: Bestiary: Selected Poems 1986-1997 (Bilingual Review Press, 2004), Honorary Mention Foreword Book of the Year Award; La estatuilla (Cultural, 2004) which includes the stories "The Oscar", winner of the International Juan Rulfo Short Story Award, 2002 (France) and the story “There’re looking for us” nominated for Best Story by Preditors and Editors Reader Poll 2006; May the transvestites of my island...(New York: Belladona Press, 2004); Park Slope ( Duration Press 2003 ); Desnudo con Huesos=Nude with Bones (La Candelaria, 2003) and Hablar sobre Julia (SALALM, 2002). Forthcoming the novela Not myself without you, translated by Bethany Korp-Edwards (Bilingual Review Press).
Other titles include Historias de Pulgarcito (Cultural, 1999) and De identidades: bibliografía y filmografía de María Luisa Bemberg (SALALM, 1999). In 1990 her biography of Marina Arzola [Puerto Rican poet] was published in a limited edition designed by artist Consuelo Gotay and it was listed by the Puerto Rican critics as one of the ten books of the year. In 1988 the Omar Rayo Museum of Colombia published Poemas in their plaquette series of women poets of Latin America, and in 1991 Huracán press published La Rosa mecánica. Her book of poems Las Hembras (Papeles del Andalicán, Chile, 1987) was listed by the Puerto Rican critics as one of the ten best books of the year.
She has collaborated with an amazing group of artists. Among them: Yarisa Colón Torres, Teo Freytes, Jane Gilday, Ken Wade, Ira Lightman, Consuelo Gotay, Adal Maldonado, Tere Martínez, Andrea Hasselager, Lene Lavtsen, Maia Sorensen and Kim Quigley. Three samples of these collaborations are: with Consuelo Gotay Salmos del cuerpo ardiente: An Artist Book (2007) previously published by (Chihuahua Arde, 2004); the videos: Meche en doble luna llena (2006), produced in New York and exhibited at the Muestra Nacional de Arte del Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, 2006 and Gato=Cat (2006) produced in New York and Denmark.
Her short stories, essays, poetry and interviews had been widely published in journals and newspapers in the USA and abroad. Some of her work had been translated to English, Swedish, Portuguese, Italian, Rumanian, Catalan, Galician and Mixtec. In 2008 The Center for Puerto Rican Studies Library and Archives/CUNY invited her to be part of the Archival Project ‘Puerto Rican Writers: History and Context’, offering a space for organizing, preserving and showcase her documents and memorabilia. She is a Honorary Member of the Board of the Center for Latino Arts and Culture of Rutgers University. She is also a member of the Pen American Center and the Poetry Project (NY).
